Beer is on one of the world’s most popular beverages, appreciated above all for its sparkling freshness. In glass bottles, it is preserved for a long time. To ensure that the same applies to their marking and that, for example, best-before or expiry dates remain permanently readable, we have developed an ink that adheres abrasion-resistantly even to wet glass surfaces. Fast-drying, resistant to moisture as well as cold, the SVHC-free, MEK-based SIMACOLOR product, which is approved for indirect food contact, even penetrates thin layers of water and ice. Thus, in the wet section of a bottling line, too, safe, long-lasting coding of glass bottles is possible. In this way, the trade, gastronomy and end consumer remain informed in the long term as to whether and for how long the beer they contain remains fresh and sparkling.
