PROSERVATION’s mission is to establish ecologically and economically sensible packaging solutions.
The Stuttgart-based bio-economy start-up uses the grain husks (the shells of grain kernels) that are left over from milling operations to produce its own sustainable upholstery material, RECOU.
With the help of a specially developed biological binding agent, the husks can be used to produce form-fitting bodies that have very good shock-absorbing and insulating properties – and can therefore be used very well as precisely fitting inlays to protect fragile goods during transport.
Their doubly resource-saving approach not only replaces plastic foams (such as EPS or PU), but also saves further process steps and thus energy by using the naturally grown cavities of the husks. PROSERVATION offers standard solutions from RECOU (such as protective corners), but also develops customer-specific solutions in upstream development projects.
